With a Mission

GEOMETRY

Throughout my “design journey’ i have developed a certain style with my works. A style which i can call my own. (each work with a niche.  Whether it be my logos, psychedelic /visionary pieces, album covers or just a general illustration.

While working in the design industry, i have learnt a lot about the technical side of the programs i use, and i have also developed an understanding of client communication and procedures, via my own freelance business and throughout my course at sae. But, i still feel like. My work and business.... Directed towards the psychedelic, transformational scene. … lacks that professional touch … so this projects main aim is to “,  progress my psychedelic professionalism opening my skill set to a whole new level and taking on a larger more professional client base.  ”

When it comes to being a creative practitioner in a not so psychedelic accepting world. I need to find a way to bring it into to my designs or products and services, but in a way that all viewers can digest.  Spreading conscious symbols and embedding them in all my future works.

“Turning psychedelic patterns and ratios into professional works of art” for professional use.

Basic Concepts of Sacred Geometry

Sacred geometry involves sacred universal patterns used in the design of everything in our reality, widely spread throughout sacred architecture and that of sacred art. The basic belief is that geometry and mathematical ratios, harmonics and proportion which are also found in concepts of music, light, and cosmology. These ratios are seen as widespread even in prehistory”a cultural universal of the human condition”. It is considered foundation to building sacred structures such as temples, monuments and churches within sacred spaces such as altars, temenoi and tabernacles.  Sacred geometry may be understood as a worldview of pattern recognition, a complex system of religious symbols and structures involving space, time and form. Which is why I have been inspired to use them as my building blocks.  By connecting with these, it is believed a believer of this system will be given the opportunity to contemplate the Great Mysteries, and the Great Design By studying the nature of these patterns, forms and relationships and their connections, an insight may be gained into the mysteries - the laws and lore of the Universe. (Crystal, 2016)

“The cumulative effect of sacred geometry is the connection between the microcosm and the macrocosm." (Whitaker, 2012) Some of the mainly used and world renowned shapes are the Flower of Life, the Seed of life and the Tree of life.  The flower of life symbol has found its way into the human consciousness, it is no more than an elaborate extension of the Vesica Pisces, but one within people have found themselves lost in a state of continuous visionary bloom.  It is said to contain values that depict the fundamental geometry of time and space. (Whitaker, 2012)

The Tree of Life is most widely recognised as a concept within the Kabbalah, which is used to understand God and the ways in which he created the world. The Kabbalists developed this concept into a full model of reality, using the tree to depict a "map" of creation. The tree of life has been called the "cosmology" of the Kabbalah. Then comes “The 'Platonic Solids' which are the names given to the five “perfect shapes” , which are formed when dividing a sphere into a three-dimensional form, with each divide having the exact same shape and angle.”

“The Greeks taught that these five solids were the core patterns of physical creation.” Four of the solids were seen as the basic patterns behind the four elements (earth, air, fire, and water), with “ether” being the fifth, Representing life itself.  These same shapes are now realised to be intimately related to the arrangements of protons and neutrons in the elements of the periodic table. (Whitaker, 2012) Which have existed well before the Greeks.
